That's me, Marie.
My focus in design is on expression.
What excites me the most during my studies is book design.
I'm inspired by art and literature, and I'm always drawn to experimental approaches.
Variety and curiosity are my greatest assets, so I like to try out a lot of things.
But most of all, I love trying new food.
Encounters
- June 2022
- "Gathering, Otherness, and Emotion: When four different women come together to truly get to know each other."
In this collaboration, I explore the states of growth, healing, fear, and pain. Each of the four artists translates their own perspective, which is then captured by an individual in a unique book. Together, equality and diversity merge into a profound personal encounter.
My book, of which most pages are shown, deals with growth.
The process of creating our book object is intentionally intuitive. We primarily get to know each other through the exchange of our art, texts, and photographs. We select the particularly prevalent states in our works as main themes and delve deeply into them throughout the process.
A portrait of you
"Societal division and the search for connection."
In "Ein Portrait von Dir”, I engage with a society trapped in filter bubbles.
By listening to public conversations, I explore what matters to people and question how we can come closer together again.
In doing so, I analyze what constitutes an enriching discussion and the impact that a change in perspective can have.
The displayed images represent the current state of my work. Throughout the course, I became aware of how extensive the research and investigative work is – moreover, all content was personally created by me.
Currently, I am continuing my efforts and research, and I am considering completing this project as my bachelor's thesis, as the topic is very dear to me.
The following images include parts of my process.
A Room For Myself Alone.
This book contains the results and process of the bachelor's thesis by Julia Quitmann. She studied design in the field of fashion.
The thesis explores the topic of shame in connection with clothing and delves into the journey of the protagonist, who isolates herself and experiences an emotional rollercoaster.
It was particularly important to me to consider the wishes of Julia in the design.
Our goal was to create a design that should appear empty and heavy.
